J&J subsidiaries LTL Management filed a bankruptcy plan in New Jersey late on Monday that outlines how the firm intends to pay different types of cancer patients in the bankruptcy settlement. The hyperbole wasn’t spared attorneys representing the victims claim this the biggest “fraudulent deal in United States history.”

Notwithstanding the legal mumbo jumbo, J&J does not really believe that this bankruptcy will last. But it is a way to try and push the $8.9 billion settlement, and to keep the pressure on plaintiffs.
